The Fuelie Corvette in any capacity has become a very sought after vehicle. Starting the option in 1957, Chevrolet was well ahead of the time being that essentially every other car was carbureted – therefore the public was a bit wary of this new technology.
However, 60 some years later this option on Corvettes is a highly desired one to say the least. Presented here today, a fully restored, numbers matching 1962 Corvette Fuelie – the end of the C1 era in all of its glory. This ’62 is dressed in the stunning Roman Red paint, which is a classic choice for any old Corvette – and still just as stunning today as it was when it was first introduced.
The restoration of this Fuelie occurred in the early 2000s. Since the restoration, the car has been meticulously maintained, with there being virtually no flaws to the naked eye. Every square inch of this Corvette has been gone through with a fine tooth comb. The block is a numbers matching 327/360 HP Fuelie with the stamp VIN on the stamp pad matching the cars, as well as the build date on the pad being correct. Needless to say this is a highly, highly rare opportunity for a fully fleshed out ’62 Corvette in fantastic mechanical and physical shape.

This beautifully restored 1929 Chrysler Model 75 Dual Cowl Phaeton is said to have been originally delivered to Hollywood, California, and benefits from an extensive restoration conducted in the 2000s. A dazzling Mexican Turquoise and Caribbean Blue two-tone accentuates the Hayes body lines, further complemented by a handsome tan leather interior and matching tan soft top. Fitted with a bevy of luxury amenities, this Chrysler boasts dual side-mounted spares, dual Pilot-Ray road lamps, wind wings, a rear-mounted trunk, and chrome wire wheels mounted with wide whitewall tires. Its outstanding presentation was awarded by the AACA on numerous occasions including a National First Prize in 2000 and Grand National First Prize in 2001.
Engine No. R295298
Beginning in 1928, Chrysler divided its model offerings by price and function, introducing the Plymouth brand to market four-cylinder models with all Chryslers now featuring six-cylinder engines. These were further divided into the 65, 75, and Imperial series, with sales literature for the lineup boasting that, “in each group, one standard alone prevails – quality.” These new Chryslers were the first of their kind to employ an array of state-of-the-art features including built-in radiator shutters, hydraulic brakes, and Lovejoy shocks. Powering the range was an 80 horsepower, 248 cu-in six-cylinder engine – a technically advanced unit that motivated a stripped-down Model 75 Roadster to sixth place overall at the 1929 24 Hours of Le Mans.
As ever, a selection of striking hand-built bodies was tailored to meet every customer’s desires. Among them was the magnificent Dual Cowl Phaeton presented here – an open four-passenger car offered by the renowned American coachbuilder Hayes Body Corporation. The supremely opulent exterior was adorned with vertical hood louvers, full crown fenders, a narrow profile radiator, and a retractable Haartz cloth top providing weather protection for the front and rear passengers. The defining feature of the Dual Cowl Phaeton was, as its name implies, a secondary cowl and windshield in-between the front and rear occupants.

In the post-Great Depression era, the automakers who survived had done so by utilizing many resources including finding ways to attract new customers and generating multi-levels of models that varied greatly in price. Packard’s lower-priced line in the post-Depression era was the One-Twenty and was introduced in 1935. Sales were strong and interest was high with over 55,000 examples produced, providing much-needed cash flow during the weary market. The top-of-the-line Packard was the Twelve, which ranged from $3,820 to $6,435. Sales were modest with around 700 units produced. In the middle were the Eight and Super Eight models, which in 1936 carried fresher styling and were available in many body styles. They both had nearly identical specs, with the main difference being that the Eight cost a bit less and outsold the Super Eight three to one. In keeping with Packard’s naming scheme, the 1936 models were the Fourteenth Series, with thirteen skipped presumably for superstitious reasons. For 1936, Packard offered 58 different body styles and engine configurations, but amongst the top of that list was the model 1407 Formal Sedan, which was powered by a mighty twelve-cylinder engine. In total, only 682 Twelves were built for 1936, making them a rare and highly desirable Full Classic® today.
Offered from 20 years of single ownership, this 1936 Packard Twelve 1407 Formal Sedan benefits from an older body-off-the-frame restoration. The body is finished in the dashing color of Orleans Blue and the black padded top presents very well. Over the years, the paint has matured nicely, only showing a few slight blemishes. A true grand classic, this Formal Sedan body rides on classic wide whitewall tires, which enclose black wire wheels with Packard Twelve hubcaps. Other exterior appointments that accentuate this lavish Packard are Trippe safety lights, a Packard Cormorant hood ornament, dual side-mounted spares with metal covers and side mirrors as well as a folding luggage rack.
The interior upholstery was reconditioned a few years back, as was the carpet, and the cabin is spacious enough to transport six lucky occupants. The front and rear compartments are separated by a roll-up privacy window and the rear cabin is furnished with one jump seat, one compartment door, and footrests, while the driver’s quarters feature a stylish wood-trimmed dash and a factory radio.
As Packard said, “Ask the Man Who Owns One,” and he will agree that this powerful 1936 Packard Twelve is a pleasure to drive, thanks to its smooth and mighty 473-cubic-inch V-12 engine. Converted to a 12-volt electrical system, this Formal Sedan has also been upgraded with power steering and an electric fan, which elevates its already memorable driving experience. Other mechanical notes include factory power vacuum-assisted brakes.
A Classic Car Club of America Full Classic® that has been tastefully upgraded in all the right spots for long-distance touring events, this 1936 Packard Twelve 1407 Formal Sedan would make for a wonderful addition to classic car and Packard Club events around the country and provide a delightful driving experience to and from those events.

1937 Packard 1502 Super Eight Town Car
• Documented by Brewster factory records
• A well-accessorized and seldom seen Brewster bodied Packard
• Classic Car Club of America Full Classic®; Eligible for a wide range of events
VIN: 1501210
While Packard surprised industry watchers with the launch of its new “Junior” models in 1935, the venerable luxury car company continued to satisfy its loyal high-end clients with the prestigious Twelve, supplemented by the new Super Eight. Introduced in September 1936 for 1937, the new Super Eight formed part of Packard’s Fifteenth Series and was available with three wheelbase lengths, with ample power delivered by the superb 320-cubic-inch, L-head straight-8 engine of the prior Fourteenth Series.
A proud recipient of a previous comprehensive restoration that still presents well today, this ’37 Packard 1502 Super Eight is finished in an appealing two-tone dark blue paint scheme that is complemented by gray pinstripes. Period accessories and features can be found equipped throughout the exterior, which includes a “Goddess of Speed” radiator mascot, Packard script Trippe speed lights, dual side-mounted spares in steel cases, dual rearview mirrors, and a luggage rack with a covered trunk.
Under the long steel folding hoods, lies a nicely detailed and clean engine bay. The 135-horsepower 320-cubic-inch inline-eight-cylinder engine has been gone through and is ready to be thoroughly enjoyed on the road. The introduction year for independent front suspension and hydraulic brakes, its Packard driving experience is only further elevated by its three-speed synchromesh manual transmission.
This Packard is an ideal choice for CCCA CARavans, as the cabin is very spacious and there is ample room for six. The “chauffeur’s quarters” are lined in black leather upholstery and tan carpeting, which are complemented by a banjo steering wheel, a very appealing instrument panel, and a McCord under-dash heater. When the weather is ideal, the roof panel can be removed for increased natural “air-conditioning.” The rear compartment is equally comfortable and is separated by a sliding glass division window. Appearing to retain most of its original cloth interior, other amenities include folding jump seats, vanity compartments, roll-down privacy blinds, and a Waltham eight-day clock.
Shown at the Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance in California as well as numerous Packard Club events, this ’37 Packard 1502 Super Eight, with its unique and rare Brewster body, will surely be a pleasant addition to further Packard events, CCCA judging events, or floating down the open road as a participant of a CARavan tour.
